A barbecue cover should last more than 2 years. Albeit I live in Central Oregon with clear seasons, my cover had a significant smokestack rip after year one and after year two it has several other large rips which allow moisture to get in to the barbecue. It has also become quite brittle this second year. I would not recommend this barbecue cover.

I purchased my barbecue about two years ago. The first year of the cover worked great, but the second year the seam had tore out and by the end of that second year it was real hard and crunchy, and several of the seams had come apart. I already have to search for another

Solid material, like the grill itself. Also has straps on bottom to prevent it blowing off during a storm.
