There is no easy "snap in" installation that I can tell. I can only get it to sit on top of the drain opening and the tabs do not prevent it from shifting over the 2 inch pipe. The previous cover was a screw-in Oatey, so I was hoping this would work, also want to install a hair catcher underneath.

We apologize for the difficulty with the installation. The Snap-Tite strainer is designed to fit certain 2 in. and 3 in. drain openings; however, fit...
style, opening size, and whether the existing drain was designed for a screw-in cover. The strainer tabs must be able to engage properly inside the drain opening to hold the cover in place. If a hair catcher or other accessory is installed underneath, that may also interfere with the Snap-Tite fit.
