I’ll make it work
The description says it is for a 6x6 post, so I assumed it would actually measure 5.75 x 5.75. Not so! It is a full 6x6, and so is larger than my post. However, since it is marine grade aluminum and we live on the water, I will keep them and have to add a 6x6 piece of wood to the top of the post. I don’t understand why they are not the size that a “6x6” post

Best made and best looking post tops I’ve ever come across. I’ve used these Nuvo caps in both the 4x4 and 6x6 sizes. They are bulletproof, made well with a durable and attractive powder coat black finish. Go on securely with two black phillips head screws that are provided.

I purchased this cap for a 6x6 weatherproof wood post. Actual post dimension was 5 1/2” x 5 1/2”. Standard size. The cap measures about 6” x 6”. So there is a little gap between the post and the cap. Still looks great but is not a tight fit for a standard wood post.
