To fill just turn handle to right to remove hopper, scoop up the seed, replace hopper in feeder and turn handle to left. Seed will automatically drop into the seed tray! The design lets you easily view the seed level for quick and easy replenishing. Sturdy plastic construction with clear view roof to keep seed dry. Holds approx. 2.5 lb. of seed and is best used with standard seed mixes or black oil sunflower seed. Install in an area that allows for easy viewing access and hang about 5 -1/2 ft. high for easy filling. Clean periodically with soap and water and rinse well. Birds attracted to this feeder are woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches, bluebirds, and others.

These work great until they don't
At first, these were great. But as time went on, they're a real pain... I threw one across the yard today in frustration. It's very hard to get the hopper back in place and seed no longer empties into the tray. I bought quite a few of these... The birds seem to love them but I can't put up with the frustration anymore.
