What is mixed in it? I got 2 bags for my semi hydro plants in clear pots. When I opened them they are full of black stuff mixed in that looks like soil.

Bark? Some type of finings in perlite.

Lots of bark finings in this perlite. Don’t recommend this.

Dirty product

I bought two plastic bag of the miracle gro perlite today so I can transplant my cuttings. To my surprise, when i open it, it was like a mixture of fine bark, dirt, dust and perlite. Perlite sizes were inconsistent mostly fine grits.I have been growing plants for years and this is by far the worst plant product I have seen. I wish I can send them back for a refund.

I love this perlite!! It’s not large it’s just perfect for using with potting soil to help with drainage!

What is this???

I purchased a bag of perlite today, very excited to get my growing medium together for my plants. When I opened the bag I noticed a few pieces of something brown. I poured the contents of the bag into a container, and it was filled with fuzzy brown things. I couldn't tell if it was dried bugs, moss or fine mulch. Either way, the perlite was unusable and I threw the whole bag away.

Fifty percent dust

I have bought Miracle-Gro perlite several times over the years. The last two 8 quart bags (UPC CODE 32247 42784) were 50% dust. You have to run the perlite through a sieve before using it, or it will ruin your potting soil,and potentially compact your soil, leading to root rot. As the owner of fifty house plants, I definitely WOULD NOT recommend this product !!!

Good product / Upset about $80 delivery fee

I placed an online or for this product and a few others items. This product was not in stock at the store but everything else was. There was an option to have it shipped to my house. Being that I've had items delivered in the past with no to little shipping fees, I didn't think this was any different. It was! I was charged $79 in shipping for an $8 item. I'll never do business with Lowe's again.

Killer perlite

I bought this, not realizing it has fertilizer in it. It killed my banana tree and is killing my canna lilies I planned to sell since money is tight and 2 dumb canes. Why do most of your products have too much fertilizer in them??? Are you guys removing complaints? Horrible product! Don't remember where I bought it or else I'd return it. Will add photos later. It's 5:30am now.

Pulverized

We bought two bags of perlite at Walmart here in central MS two days ago, and it was mostly crushed and it was not snow white, but very dirty/brownish. Looks similar to how the other recent review described but we see no pieces of anything brown, it's just very dirty looking perlite. Returning it immediately.
