I understand the stain will be a slight different color on different types of wood and i also didnt expect the exact color shown on the example but i sure didnt expect a color so dark it resembles black! There is no medium golden brown hues at all. my trunk now looks like a tacky blackish blob

We have had excellent results

Several months ago we purchased an 80 year old cottage that has a goodly amount of the original 1 1/4 inch hardwood flooring. We have "touched" almost ever. square foot of the floors, ceilings and walls. One evening we rolled a good coat of this polyurethane over the hardwood then got in the van and drove the 800 miles back home. I use it for floor trim. Two coats of stain and 2 coats of satin.

Delivery service isn't worth it

It was supposed to be shipped in two days, then it showed two weeks! I paid $80 for delivery: ridiculous! I still don't have it yet. I could've walked the 30 miles to the store to get it by now. Ugh.

New Go-to for refurbishing

My new go-to instead of paint for refurbishing furniture.  It covers beautifully!!

Turned my Ikea furniture PINK

Used Colonial Maple 223 on brand new untreated pine bookshelf from Ikea. Followed all of the directions including stirring and wiping after 5 minutes and it turned the whole piece a light coral pink color! Not nearly as rich of a color as I thought it would look and now I am stuck with a pink bookshelf and wasted money

Stain doesn't dry; project is ruined.

First thing's first: let's talk about the stripe of woodgrain shown on the label of this product. It would be intuitive for this to show the approximate color of the stain in question; I get that the color of the wood itself will change it a bit so an exact match isn't really possible...on the other hand the labels for the various colors looked like the same color to me, but with a different wood grain pattern.
