The luster was dull and left white in the grain. This was on oiled black walnut.

This product did exactly what it was made to and im very happy. I purcased red oak and was trying match it my floors (ike the orher review below - thank you!). I followed the directions and was very pleased. It is important you understand that you need to be using wood that has a distinct grain to start. I think in some of the reviews below there was not enough grain to get the benefits of this. If all else fails use a test strip. I did two coats of stain followed by 1 of wax

Horrible, horrible product

Buffing removed all the stain that I had meticulously applied. And yes, I followed directions to the letter. Totally annoyed. Now I have to figure out how to get this junk off my furniture in order to re-stain.

Exactly what I wanted

Easy to apply, exactly the right texture and feel for our french doors. Didn’t change the color of the gel stain we had already applied. Will use again.

Worth it!

I decided i would give this this a try instead of the polyurathane i normally use. I am finishing a butherblock top desk for my home office, i stained it with my normal stain that i had for my kitchen cabinets and i let them dry for the 4 hours as my can suggested. I wanted a seal and a shine on top but i hate polying, its so messy, so upon my research i came across this at lowes. This Mimwax Soft Touch Wax has no smell so great!!
