I ordered oil stain but got gel stain. My project couldnt wait so I had to use what I ordered to my house. A little disappointed!

Great Gel Stain
The gel stain worked perfectly for my last project which incorporated two different species of wood. This stain made it appear that the piece was made with one type of wood. It covered well and allows the underlying wood grain to be seen and appreciated. I also used it on a piece with a vertical surface and it clung to the piece without any runs or drips. Excellent stuff.

Excellent Stain
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used minwax gel stain on a great number of furniture projects. The quality is excellent. Colors between different cans always match perfectly. I also see no color fading in the 15 years I’ve been using MinWax. Just cannot say enough good things about it. Customer for life.

Terrible experience
This is an awful product. I’m not one to really write reviews, but I decided I showed with this one. I don’t know if the can I purchased was just old or not well mixed or what but this absolutely went on way too thick no matter how much I tried to thin it out and never completely dried down, so it was tacky still days later. I’ll probably have to use some mineral spirits to try to undo the terrible job it did. It stained very unevenly and it was way too dark. Regret this mistake big time.

Aged Oak was a HIT!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Typically i prefer Minwax oil based penetrating stain but i wanted a little change for this piece. I used “aged oak” for the first time. Applied it thick and wiped it back immediately. It created the prettiest stain color to highlight the woodgrain and i will DEFINITELY be using it again.
