This unit can accommodate a 1/2, 3/4 or 1 HP motor (sold separately) based on your cooling needs. This evaporative cooler performs best in dry, arid climates.

Would Recommend

Evaporative coolers do not work well in high humidity areas because the water needs to evaporate. Also you need to open windows to let the moist air created by the cooler to exit the house. The open space on the window needs to be larger then the ductwork that you have hooked up. I recommend that you open Windows on the opposite side of the house from what the wind is blowing Otherwise you're gonna let warm air in. I winterize my cooler I take the pads and the pumps out and store them in my gara...

Disappointed

Would Not Recommend

We’ve been using this MasterCool 7000-cfm, downdraft evap. cooler with 12” rigid media for 4 years and this evap cooler has been extremely disappointing. It does not cool down our 1968-sq.ft. house very much. In optimum conditions with extremely dry humidity conditions (10-13%) it only cools the home down 5-10 degrees from the exterior temperature (when it’s 95 degrees outside it’s still 85-90 degrees inside). Once the ambient humidity reaches 20% and higher forget it, the inside temperature ...

OUTRAGEOUS INSTALLATION FEE.. over $1200

Product was good however the installation cost was as much as cooler .. over $1200.00 for installation. Mechanical Technology out of El Paso, TX. Extremely disappointed with Lowes.

Poor choice. Inferior product.

Would Not Recommend

I purchased this cooler in order to replace an older one that looked almost similar. I am extremely disappointed in the quality. Most screws are loose and stripped out. The panels don’t line up and the product is flimsy. Every time I walk by it I have regrets for buying it. The review previous to mine is spot on. I don’t expect this product to last. This is an abortion at best.

Would Not Recommend

I purchased this to replace a 30 year old Tradewinds Cooler that had been destroyed. This cooler is not fun to work on. There are 2 access panels aligned to the the fan for ease of adjusting the belt and lubricating the flywheel. But for the things that need tweaking throughout the season, such as the pump, float, and any anticalcification products you might want to add, monitoring and adjusting of the water distribution pipes, you are out of luck.
