Poor quality screws
Save yourself the trouble of using the supplied hardware screws. They are grade zero or less, meaning that they will break off and then you will be might be unable to retrieve them from whatever you screwed them into. Go to the hardware store and purchase good quality screws before you start. Also, I learned (and this is no fault of the blackout shade) that positioning the shade inside the frame of a window will allow sunlight to come through the small clearance on each side of the screen.
