Curtain Rod
I used these to make sturdy 1" curtain rods for heavy blackout curtains in my bedroom, paired with gold brackets from Lowe's. They worked great. Pro tip for poplar: leave it in the sun for a few days to turn the weird green areas into a nice chestnut color.

Delivered as Is - 72"x1"
Mine did not come in a box but could at least have been covered with cellophane. It arrived dirty, you can see what it was like originally by where the stickers were. However, the main shipping sticker has left a very sticky residue that I so far cannot remove. And the rod is a bit warped so that is disappointing to, do not know if it was that way when shipped or if it happened during shipping.
Perfect Fit
The Lowe’s app said that the local location had 9-1” diameter wooden dowels that were 8’ long. When I looked at the store, there were only 3/4” or 1 1/4” diameter dowels. So I ordered a dowel online and Lowe’s shipped it to me. It arrived in perfect shape, and it fit perfectly in the planned location.
