Successfully used on top of another weatherstrip

I used this on top of another weatherstrip, only on the lock side of my back door, to close up a 1/4" gap that ran about 8" above to 8" below the deadbolt and handle. I applied it in 45F weather, and ran it from the top to the bottom of the seal, placing the U shape away from the frame, to fill that gap. This strip has adhered well to the other original weatherstriping, and solved the air leak problem. Initially the extra thickness (it is not thick, really) did make it hard to lock the deadbol...

Perfect design

The design,size & material is perfectly shaped to fit the bottom portion of my older Anderson window. Makes for a professional touch sealing out out windy drafts.. it is just thin enough To perfectly fit on top of my existing weather seal with its adhesive backing around my exterior doors sealing out winter winds & hot humid weather. I'm happy with it!

Used this on my back door and felt a difference overnight! It sealed out the draft and it was considerably warmer the next day; plus the heater did not come on at all the next night. I did the front door just for the heck of it but came up about 8 in short. Guess I'll have to get another roll and find some other stuff to weather strip. Great value! It'll pay for itself in 1 month.

Excellent

Very easy to cut and apply , I installed it on a door that had a terrible draft coming threw it . Iam happy to say that it worked perfectly, it’s been two weeks now and the glue seems to be holding and doesn’t appear to be a problem.

Easy to Install

This weather stripping is easy to cut and install. There is extra material to cover any standard door frame. The material is plyable enough to allow door to easily close.

The Black Door Silicone Gasket works for me

This item is made in USA. So, it is a good product. The gasket is thin and the adhesive side works effective. I used it over the existing door weatherstrip. It stops cold air leaking through my door nicely.

Works well

Sticks well and seals well. I don't think it covers 1/2 gap, more like 1/4 inch. If you can see light coming around the door, you probably need something a little thicker.

Unique part

This part fit where others couldn’t. I needed a uniquely shaped piece of molding to squeeze in an almost right seal. This part stopped the flow of air in an area I thought shouldn’t have any flow of air, but did.

Don't believe the picture or description

Maybe when it first came off the line it looked like the picture, but when I received it it is pretty much flat. Very thin material (about 1 millimeter thick) and the adhesive is very poor quality. If I had gone to the store instead of ordering online, I never would have bought it.

Easy and convenient to use

It's very easy to use, just measure - cut - peel - stick. However, the stripping is not very adhesive, I would like it to be a lot more sticky so that it would better stay.
