Selecting the right ladder
There are several types of Step Ladders. Standard Step ladders have an A-frame design, with spreaders that lock to hold each side in the correct position. Typically, steps run up only one side of the ladder. Twin-step ladders allow you to use both sides. Step ladders are a good choice if you don’t have a nearby surface that can support an extension ladder. They’re often used for indoor projects, such as installing a ceiling fan or painting crown moulding.
Platform ladders, also called podium ladders, are step ladders that have a surface for standing at the top instead of a traditional step. A rail extends above the platform, providing an extra point of contact for the user. These ladders are designed to provide additional comfort and security when you’re working at a fixed height.
Versatile telescoping step ladders have an adjustable A-frame design. You can set up these lightweight ladders in multiple configurations and use them on stairs.

Common ladder materials are Aluminum and Fiberglass. Aluminum ladders are corrosion-resistant, strong and lightweight, making them a durable choice that's easy to maneuver and carry. To hard to handle
This is a large ladder, which is why we bought it. To set up the ladder takes at least two strong people. Maybe if you added some type of lubricant to the ladder it might be easier to set up. The other thing to consider the base becomes very wide and cannot set up in area's that are tight on space. The ladder is heavy duty and well built. Just not for us.

Takes two people to set up unless you are 6’ 10”.
It is what it is. I gave it 4 stars because the ladder does not extend very easily. With it being so big it is a hassle to extend, keeps getting stuck as you try to extend! But it is tall and I will not return it.

Need 2 or 3 people to set up and bring down.
Good value for a ladder this high. Takes some courage to be up there, and there is flex to the ladder, but once up it is solid and stable even in the wind. Love the telescoping feature, picked it up on top of a minivan, and easier to move around and store. Appreciate the lower weight with aluminum, but still need 2 or 3 people to set it up and get it down.

Its huge, but very useful
@100 lbs, this ladder doesn't come out often, only when really needed because it really is a 2-3 person carry depending on who is on the other side helping me. I've used this once at 24' and it is amazingly high for a step ladder. It's really stable with a 3.5' wide leg base. most recently I replaced a ceiling fan in my sunroom that has a cathedral ceiling.. to get it up to the peak was an exercise of extending after standing it up.
