compressor failed in 5 years

We purchased this version of the LG french door refrigerator 5 years ago. It is nice looking and has many features, however the compressor failed on a Friday. Service confirmed on Sat. compressor failed. LG warrantees the compressor but they are on the east coast and closed Sat. and Sun. Calling Mon. and waiting to get a new compressor sent plus installation time and installation cost of $800 to 1,000 dollars plus food spoilage made this repair inadvisable. Ice cube unuseable

Both ice makers taste like pure mold can't even use them in drinks..already washed the trays 2x. New filter.flushed the lines. New plastic tubing from connection to refridge. Dumped many of tray of cubes out.....there is something either bad with the design that use passage ways that could be mold in there or just the plastic ice cube tray are bad... water is ok just ice issue.. at this time I cannot recommend this product.....still under warranty at 7 Mos old....

Refrigerator Door Won't Stay Closed

Extremely disappointed with this LG refrigerator. The biggest issue is the refrigerator door latch. The door does not stay securely closed and feels very loose. On several occasions, the door has slowly swung open by itself after appearing to be closed, which is incredibly frustrating and raises concerns about food safety and energy waste. Fridge is okay.

First of all the crisper drawers are too large and waste valuable space. Not enough shelving adjustments to maximize storage space. Did they not try normal grocery items when designing this fridge! Between the top and second shelf is very restricted, you can't even place a typical beverage can. If they would have reduced the size of the crisper drawers, the shelving could've been more configurable. Delivery was not okay delivering a $3000 fridge with a dented front door.
