DIY makes this look easy. It is not. Maybe if your door already has one of these installed, and you can just replace it fine. My door was anything but standard. I had to first build out the door frame about three inches to accommodate the door and handle. Two one by three strips then the brick molding. I own a Larson door that is 20 years old and when a friend needed a new storm door, I suggested this one. The door itself is a good choice. It is well built. The instructions are a disaster. Door Defective - Don't Count on Larson Support

Let me start off by saying we have this same door installed on our house in 2 other locations. The third door we installed - the retaining strips would not snap in as described. There was a metal portion on the outside of the door which I sent into them showing it was slightly bent. Apparently they couldn't "see" it lol. They asked me to disassemble the door and take photos. Window falls out

The door looks amazing...when the window isn't falling out of it. We had this installed one year ago during a full renovation of our home. I can't speak on ease of installation as our contractor installed it. But, we're very disappointed that the glass is coming out of the door after only a year. Know this before buying

If you purchase this product then there are certain things to be aware of. Firstly, the installation video breezes over adding shims in a half a sentence. However, doing so is no mean feat and needs to be planned correctly. My advice is to measure the total width of the gap beyond the 36 inches limit, divide it by two and install shims that have half the width of the gap on each side of the door frame. Absolute Junk

After struggling with the lackluster instructions that just show pictures and “put it here” instead of giving you measurements and where what hardware goes where I go to install the screen and notice the frame is very undersized and is so cheap and weak that it bows in in the middle like an hourglass and pushes right through the door frame. Missing parts & awful customer service.

The door came missing essential pieces to place the screen into the door. The glass was popping out of its frame too. I contacted Lowe’s support who understandably referred me to Larson support.
