Kevo Traditional Touch-to-Open Smart Lock 2nd Gen

This product came with my DR Horton home. I moved here in 2022. I've gone through three of these locks. Really disappointed. They chew through batteries and constantly have issues. Really a shame as, when they work, they are good. Getting rid of my third one and going to look at a different product.

Bad engineering

Having to reset the entire system every time you replace the batteries ever five or six months is a real pain. And it could have been simple to place a charging cord to one side of the body and use rechargeable batteries. A good idea wasted by poor engineering.

Bad.. Avoid

Constant problems and issues.. we just use the key now. Avoid

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had a 1st gen kevo installed for about 7 years . It has had problems but all in all it has worked . One problem was it would not latch all the way and jam . But that was a problem from when the door was installed . Fixed that , Only complaint I ever had was the bluetooth taking so long to find the lock . Also it loves batteries , But it is a 1st gen and when i replace it will move to the Halo touch

Easy to install and use.

Easy to set up and very simple to send "key" to family and friends.

Extremely Disappointing Product

I finally got around to installing my Kevo 2nd Gen spent over 5 hrs trying to get the product to work correctly. Software will not update, tried many times failure every time. Got system to work with apk but when you unlock the system it jams every time gear train faulty. Also failed re-keying now no key works. Ended up removing and installing original deadbolt. Would like warranty replacement on item, currently item is unusable as is.

Love the Kevo 2nd Gen and Kevo Plus

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my first Kevo 2nd Gen in 2017 for our condo in FL. #2 in 2019 for our Condo in PA. Both have the Kevo plus. Love being able to lock and unlock the door remotely to let someone in when not at home. Touch open works great only complaint is the the Iphone APP must be open in the background to work but have learned to not close it down. The batteries last about a year. (use good batteries not Dollar store ones. They don't last)....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband purchase this Kevo Traditional Touch-to-Open Smart Lock, 2nd Gen about 2 years ago, and we installed it right away and we have been using it ever since. I love having this Kevo Smart Lock, it makes it very easy to get in my home even if my hands are full with grocery or what have you. Then locking it is quicker then having to find my key put the key in and lock the door as I’m leaving, but now because of this wonderful Kevo Smart Lo...
