Loud and expensive

Utter garbage. I thought this was going to be as good or better than the Kwikset we had at the last house. It is LOUD when locking and unlocking, sounding like the motor is going to explode and any moment. Watch the videos people have posted, it's loud. In the years wen had a different kwikset code lock at our old house, we changed the batteries once. We are already on our second set of batteries and it has only been installed for 2 months. As expensive as this is, it is absolutle garbage.

Don't buy this lock!

These locks require 4 AA batteries to operate. Their power consumption is HUGE requiring new batteries every 4 - 6 days depending on use. This product should not be on the market.

I purchased this lock in August of 2023. It quit working after three weeks and so they replaced it now it is October 2025. It’s quit working again well because there’s only a one year warranty unless you purchased an extended warranty that there’s nothing they can do. It’s an electrical matter. So basically you pay hundreds of dollars for a lock that’s only gonna last you maybe a year maybe two but mine had to be replaced within the first three weeks . My sister has the same lock. Halo Touch Fingerprint

Purchased this lock so kids can get in faster than using a key when coming home from school. In less than a year, the touch pad stopped working. Kwikset had me do troubleshooting and sent me a replacement. Within less than a year, the replacement did the same thing. This is obviously a defect from this product. Kwikset now says I am passed my warranty phase of 1 yr. If you want a product that works for less than a year, buy this then.

Great smarthome device.

Absolutely love this lock. Easy to set up and add family members. My child can't wait to get home from events to use fingerprint to unlock.

Extremely difficult to set up.

I installed the lock with little to no difficulties. When it came time to connect the lock to my wifi network, that's where the problems began. After spending approximately 2hrs. trying to connect with no luck I decided to contact Kwikset support. They were no help at all. Frustrating!

Unlocked itself numerous times

During the AWS outage 10/21/2025 my front door unlocked itself multiple times. Due to the outage, notifications were not being sent so we would not have been aware it was happening if we weren't home and heard it happen. We had to take the batteries out so the door would stay locked. NOT SAFE, do not buy.

I think I got a lemon

On day two with the Halo Touchscreen. Works OK with the key, but not the app. Have had to manually reset it twice already. After the reset, it works OK for a time or two, but then I get an error message that it is jammed. Still works fine manually or with the key, so it is not jammed. Just doesn’t work with the app. Disappointed
