3rd Malfunctioning kwikset... Switch brands
Started off with five stars for easy installation and replacement of my other kwikset which was draining battery and frequently disconnecting. Unfortunately after about 2 weeks this does the same. Multiple resets, conversations with kwikset support. They are sending another but this is the third lock that has died for various different reasons over the past 4 years. Switch to a different brand and avoid this, learn from my three failures

Poor Battery Life
I installed my lock on a VRBO the first of this year that is 300 miles from my home. Even though no one was using the lock, the batteries were dead by the first of May. I had guests off and on through May and June and, this time the batteries were dead in two months by the first of July. I have an older style Kwikset lock on the back door that had the batteries replaced in May 2025. It doesn't get used much but, also doesn't connect to WiFi so, I swapped the batteries from that into the new lock...

I love how it’s not too large and is sleek and attractive looking. I couldn’t install it (but admittedly that’s on me) but my husband had no issues.

The lock has touchscreen and is WiFi enabled which is perfect to use for both touch of my finger without keys. The battery and direction is all included.
