Kwikset 907 Powerbolt Satin Nickel Electronic Deadbolt SmartKey Keypad

Works ok

Bought this to replace a prior Kwikset model that quit working after several years. The installation was straight forward, though all components had to be replaced as the internal workings of the model are completely different. The biggest drawback is the cycle time for both keying in the numbers and opening or closing the bolt is much slower than the older model I replaced. Not a show stopper, but the reason I give 4 stars rather than 5.

just worn out

We have the powerbolt electronic deadbolt on our front door for 10 years and the numbers are so worn anyone would be able to guess our door code. we were going to replace it with smart code 270 but it is not the same size and on a wooden door that is a problem. Do you have any product that would be about the same size or a little bigger we like the Kwikset brand if you have any suggestions for us, thank you

Sticky Latch

The Kwikset deadbolt worked fine for approx. a year, then the latch only opened 1/2 way. New batteries were installed which didn't help. Again I purchased the same Kwikset deadbolt, and like the first lock which worked great for months, the same problem happened, but this time the latch stopped working all together. I won't be purchasing Kwikset product again, as I'm researching other products to rely on for a safe and reliable entry. I gave a 2-star rating one for each of the 2 locks that last...

The product itself is great.

The product itself is great, but I ordered it from Lowe’s and they sent me the wrong lot. They sent me the newer version of the lock but the product number is completely different so I do not like the lock. I have to return it. I don’t want the new one. I want it an old one. I am not sure how this one works. I did not use it I don’t want that one.

Wrong lock in the box

I ordered two of these locks. Both boxes had the same picture. One of the locks was different in the box. Of course I had already installed the first one only to discover the other box had the wrong lock. You waste my time.... guess what you can have them both back. I want a refund.

Keys are so yesterday

Not the one I have used for years, but this one was what I needed for my new house. It works great. Easy to install. Clear, concise directions to use and program. Most brilliant was it has the programming instructions on the back cover where you change the batteries. Beyond satisfied.

More recent electronic locks are also wireless, either Zigbee or Z-Wave, either of which have proprietary implementations, e.g. Xfinity Home's devices generally do not interoperate with those of other Zigbee suppliers, and while Sigma supplies nearly all Z-Wave chips, those are country-specific. While it is undeniably convenient to have locks which use either combinations or keys, locks which also integrate with security systems are clearly more generally useful (and not much more expensive). I love this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought with kwikset prior, their customer is so supreme I will never buy from another company. When I needed help these folks were really patient and respectful. I was encouraged to not wait for my husband and do it myself!!! I feel so powerful now after that. We worked through the the installation process and it so great. My teenagers, bless their hearts refused to lack the door behind them. Now that is no longer a problem, it locks by it...

Easy Install

I've had these before, and I'm familiar with the install. What impressed me is I thought a slight mismatch between deadbolt and the recess for it had caused the unit to strip its gears trying to push the bolt against the surrounding jamb. The unit saved itself and I learned how to recalibrate so that when my alignment was complete that the unit was ready to go, unharmed.
