Strong
Decided to give the XD Pocket holes a try over the expensive pergola brackets. The 4x4 to 4x4 joints are very strong and far more attractive than those big metal brackets. Excellent choice for my Koi Pond railing and suppots. I liked it so much I bought a second XD Pocket Hole Jig and 4 Boxes of these screws. This is a DIYers dream :)

Snapped shanks
Had several of these screws shear in the same spot. Not knotty that I could see in these locations. It seems like a manufacturing flaw, as it happened on the identical location on all failures. I’ve been a big fan of Kreg, but this product falls short.
