Kobalt Gen4 40-volt 14-in Battery Chainsaw Battery Not Included Charger Not Included

Battery chainsaw

Purchased without battery and charger already have a 40 volt 4ah charger for the Kobalt hedge trimmer. Took about 10 minutes to assemble. I was very cautious about the chain tensioner because i saw others say they had trouble. I had no problem with it. I just made sure to back off the cover lock a bit to make the tensioner slide the bar with less resistance. I only used it for some light fall trimming which is all i need it for. -2 small trees later this barely works

This is our second of these. The first didn’t work out of the box. The second worked great on 2 - 4” limbs and now will not cut anything. Even fresh bamboo. We have the right oil and have greased the chain, tightened the chain etc. nothing works. So frustrating.

Chain did not want to stay tight

I bought this just to do light cuts to keep limbs from touching our building at work and it did well for the day, but the second time it was used the chain had to be put back on several times and the tensioning process is not ideal. I am not sure if the plastic is not good at keeping the chain tight or why it was so troublesome after the first day.

Great features

I bought this to cut small trees and to cut up large limbs. Perfect size for me and easy to use!
