It has been a great and reliable mower. I can use the batteries with other Kobalt 80V tools which is always a plus. The Charger that came with this mower was a better charger so I am using it since it has a fan to cool the battery from use.

Dainty mower quits when I'm just getting started.
The Kobalt KMP 4280D-06 does not work in direct sunlight/heat because it overheats. I purchased the lawn mower on April 16, 2023. It arrived on April 21, 2023. I started cutting around 5 pm that day. It worked fine. Later, it would cut off in warmer temperatures and direct sunlight. DAY 1 of my tracking after the problems started, I mowed in 86-degree temperatures and partial direct sunlight, and the lawn mower cut off after 21mins. I mowed with both batteries charged fully. Aside from a damaged charger due to being poorly packaged which Kobalt promptly replaced I love this mower so far. I cut some thick 10" tall grass in my back yard. It did choke up a few times, but I was mulching so was impressed that it didn't do it more often. My old 6.5HP gas mower did not do as well. Did front and back on 2 batteries. The nice thing was not having to wear ear plugs!
