The pick was purchased due to trench width requirements. Considering how difficult the soil was I expected more resistance than I received. The pick even a lightweight, was a champion. It fit the trench width perfectly and broke up the soil which was like decomposed granite. I have been presently surprised and happy with my purchase.

Great tool to dig a trench
Excellent to dig a trench your house! This one is perfect for almos any job that requires a pick. There is a bigger version of 5 lb but the “hoe” part is too wide and the weight make it difficult and dangerous to handle. You won’t have that problem with this one.
