Replacing my 40 year old mixer

I recently needed to replace my 40 year old stand mixer. I originally had the larger with most of the attachments. Since my family size is smaller, I went with the smaller one. I hope that all of my attachments will fit and work with this model. Not many appliances last 40 years, and KichenAid should be very proud of making such a superior product.

Stopped working just under 2 years

Stopped working just short of 2 years while mixing dough. Very disappointed, as much as these cost they should last a lot longer. Our original lasted 10 years.

Not as I expected...

This mixer was sent to me as a replacement for an identical one that became defective after less than a year of use. 4.5 quart tilt back

I bought the smaller kitchen-aid for my Granddaughter when she got married she got a larger kitchen aid. So I put the small one in my camper it came with the coated beaters but at the tip of both beaters the coating is coming off and I’m afraid that this will come off into my breads and cake mixes the beaters are quite a bit smaller than my 7qt I use at home and I really don’t want to get another coat beaters can you advise? 2 and half years

I expected much better durability from a KitchenAid mixer, especially considering the price and reputation. Unfortunately, mine started making a loud knocking/grinding noise after only 2½ years of normal home use. It was never abused or used commercially, so I was surprised to experience what appears to be an internal mechanical problem so soon. Just used it for the first time. I have never used a stand mixer and the ease of use and quality is hands down the best - where have I been?

Wish I'd gotten one of these sooner!!!

Makes kitchen work so much easier!! I have a nice food processor that I rarely use because it is so time-consuming to clean up afterwards. My new Kitchenaid stand mixer is a breeze to clean. It now lives on my countertop and gets used several time a week. Wish I'd gotten it sooner!! I'm looking for to the holidays now, knowing how much easier it's going to be making all the cookies :)

I wish it had a mode to go even slower, sometimes the batter goes flying! Other than that, it's great and a huge help.

Poor design at best!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was able to adjust the attachment so it didn’t touch the bottom of the bowl but couldn’t finish making a bread dough because the mixer wanted to shake a shudder all over the countertop. My soul purpose for purchasing this was to mix bread dough. What a waste of money. Cutting corners during lean times will eventually sink your company.
