Dimensions are not correct
As mentioned by Joe in March 2023, the base I purchased was also 48 1/4 inches wide, despite what the manufacturer shows in the specs. Please beware if your opening is only 48-inches.

Expect better QC from Kohler
The first one we received has a crack on the corner. We returned it to the stored and ordered a new one which was fine. We had no issue with returning it, but for such a heavy and large product I expected better quality control from Kohler before shipping out their products. It was obvious that it was cracked before packaging and I am sure it didn't happen on the way. Should be familiar with installing shower bases
Unit is sturdy and well built but the support pads on the bottom would work better if the depth actually matched the front of the unit. Always put in mortar base but would be easier to install if unit set level on floor.

This shower pan is 48 1/4 inches wide, despite what the manufacturer shows!!!! Please beware if you purchase this pan and plan for a 48-inch opening. Come on Kohler and Lowes get your act together!
Always open box at store upon delivery.

Do not buy this pan. It was delivered twice and was bowed/not flat. I only purchased this because it was the only size I could find that was correct. Stay away from this pan. Poor quality. Only put it down because I had to finish the job. What happened to Kohler quality.
