Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
The toilet is generally well-received, with many customers praising its great flush, easy installation, and comfortable height. It is considered a high-quality, good-looking product that provides good value. However, some customers experienced issues such as leaks, the toilet running constantly, and problems with the flush mechanism. A few also felt the toilet seat was of poor quality. Overall, the majority of customers seem satisfied, though a small number had problems that required additional troubleshooting or replacement.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews.I have multiple bathrooms. I had to replace 2 toilets within my home. Although I did my research before I actually headed to the store. I had 2 other choices in mind. I discussed my choices with the salesman and etc. But despite all of this including the reviews I took a chance on Kohler. Plus I went with these toilets because the salesman said the store manager had purchased a few and loved them. But I never spoke with the manager of his experiences. Anyhoo, I should have believed the revie...
Defective Design
Bought this toilet this morning and, after installing it and hooking it up to my home water system, discovered that the built in filler valve is installed too close to the toilet wall, causing the piece of the valve that needs to float up (to seal the valve) to instead get stuck on the tank wall. This makes the toilet inoperable - if you leave it stuck in the "down" position, it never stops filling; if you leave it stuck in the "up" position it never fills at all. I was amazed to see such a ba...
GREAT TOILET FOR THE MONEY, AND IT'S A KOHLER TOO!
Got this for Mom and Dad for Christmas because they are getting a little older. I sent dad to Lowes to get a new water hose that connects from the shutoff valve to the back of the new toilet, while he was gone i had the old one taken out and the new one installed, sitting down and watching TV, and he only lives 2 exits from Lowes. So it was an easy instillation. It came with everything, wax seal, nuts , bolts, and new nuts and bolts that go on the floor mount. All 4 of my bathrooms have Kohler i...
Wasted my Saturday on this one
Looks great! Installed quickly! 30 minutes after removing the old toilet I was pleased. Then I turned on the water. I found a leak in the worst place to find a toilet leak - from underneath the base, and I had not even flushed it yet. Everything else was dry (supply line, tank connections, tank to base, etc all was dry). The leak was from underneath (inside) the base of the toilet. Here's how I came to that conclusion: I completed some basic troubleshooting and found it was the bowl (or ba...
First use CLOGGED - No Plunger works.
We just had a brand new bathroom remodel because the tub leaked all over and destroyed the floor. So we decided to get the bathroom we wanted for nearly the same cost to bring it back to original. The toilet we where shown was impressive sounding. We had a 1960's oldie small toilet. It had one thing ALL toilets have had since they were invented is a ROUND waste hole. This Kohler toilet has a oblong hole and not just oblong... Narrow at the back and wider at the front. While that may sound fine...
Hi AbiliTV, My name is Sarah from Kohler Co. I am sorry to read you are having trouble plunging your Kohler Elliston toilet. We would suggest using a...
style can be seen online here: [https://goo.gl/wrKYBi] While this type of plunger will work well to remove a clog, we would like to help you prevent a clog in the future. If the clog is more than 3 feet down the trapway, it is actually getting clogged in your waste line, rather than it being an issue with the toilet. We would like to share a few suggestions to ensure your toilet tank is working optimally. The chain connecting to the trip lever should be taut. If there is any slack, it should be tightened to remove the slack. The water level can also be checked. The water level in the tank should be at the water line which is marked on the inside back wall of the tank or on the flush valve. The refill tube can be checked as well. It should be connected at both ends connecting the fill valve to the center of the canister valve. If either end is disconnected, it should be pushed back into place. If you are still having problems or have any questions, please contact our Customer Service team at [email protected]. We are glad to help! Sincerely, Sarah B. KOHLER Customer Service />
***DO NOT BUY THIS TOILET***
I wanted a commode that sat at chair height due to the one currently installed in the bathroom in my home, so I went to Lowe's thinking that I would be able to get something that would be able to fit my needs. I came across the Kohler Elliston commode which was on sale at the time and I THOUGHT that Kohler made quality products, WRONG. There was an American Standard on the shelf behind me that wasn't on sale that was nice looking, but costly. I regret not buying it. Every since this commode ...

Very good value
I purchased two of these toilets to replace the 1970 models in my house. I had a plumber do the install in case of any surprises with the old plumbing, which was a good plan because he did run into a few issues. The toilets fit fine into my 1960 bathrooms with one small issue. The lid on this toilet is curved on the back side and there's not quite enough clearance for it to sit flat on the tank. Huh. The lid is in no danger of sliding off, and it's just barely uneven, but it will not sit on the...
Elliston
I've had this for about a month, and works just fine. There was an issue of water running at first, but it turned out the flush valve thing in the tank wasn't secured properly, and it was a just a twist of a stem thing to make it work well. I think it flushes well for a low-flow toilet. I think it looks good, if one admires the design of toilets. I personally do not like the 'chair-height' size, because I am not tall. I kind of 'sit on tip-toes' on it. When I remodel the other bathroom, I'll mov...
Leaks like a Russian submarine
Trust the reviews. Very disappointed with this one. Liked the price point but the quality just isn’t there. Spent my entire Saturday replacing an old toilet. I have done this at least a dozen or so over the years - this is a very basic update almost anyone can handle, it’s just a little time consuming. The leak came from the tank, which has a rather large gasket in the bottom and from what I can surmise is where the leak came from. Started with tightening the tank bolts conservatively, then ...
It serves the purpose.
I needed to replace those old water wasters toilets. Lets face it.... all of these serve the same purpose. This one does seem to work well. I installed the toilet myself. Took about an hour and a half to remove the old and install the new. I do have two complaints though. The first, I thought the instructions poorly labeled exactly which bolts-nuts-washers were to be used where. I got this figured out without too much difficulty though. My big issue is the horrible plastic toilet seat. After 3 d...
