Same problem I had with the 48”

They are light weight but the robot that holds the clamping plate to the threaded part works very poorly and you can’t tighten anything.

The clamps are strategically photographed to conceal the fact that the aluminum "bars" are not only not solid, they are not even an extruded rectangular tube, but are rather formed from sheet aluminum with an open side. This compromises the bending stiffness of the bar somewhat and the torsional stiffness even worse (generally not an issue for a bar clamp, but still...).

Jorgensen 36" Aluminum Bar Clamps

I had to order (8) clamps in order to get (4) decent ones, and even those were not great as the jaw width varied on every clamp, from 37.5 inches to 35 inches, and these are marketed as 36-inch clamps. There did not appear to be any Quality Control during or after production on these clamps as the indents on each bar was different. Even the screws that are used to secure a workpiece in the clamp were inconsistent. I returned all (8) and will probably order a set of Dubuque aluminum bar clamps...
