John Deere 100 44-in Two-stage Residential Attachment Snow Blower
Item #876847 |
Model #BM27439
Compatible with all John Deere 100 Series models built after March 2014 (not compatible with LA and D Series tractors)
Works well in all snow conditions and is suited for snow removal around homes in snow regions
Use of tire chains and weights is highly recommended for proper traction, tire chains and weights are sold separately
More effective than single-stage snow throwers when operating in wet, heavy snow and deep snow conditions; the low speed auger sizes crusted material as it moves snow toward the second stage blower
Provides consistent snow placement in variable snow conditions because the high-speed blower gives the discharged snow consistent velocity, even in very light clean-up volumes

One of the many design faults is the square housing for the augers. Snow accumulates both inside- above the augers, and outside- on its flat top, making it so heavy it can’t be lifted in to the transport position without raising the driver so far off the seat that the safety switch shuts off the engine.
I just purchased a JD X370 with a snowblower.
We just got between two and three feet of snow. I live at a dead end street. The town plows pushed a pile of snow about five to six feet high. This machine did an exceptional job of clearing up my yard.

The installation instructions are so poorly written and photographed that it nearly impossable to understand. Although it will fit many models of jd tractors you may need a pair of very expensive brackets to mount it to yours. Once mounted it works well except the lifting arm is extremely difficult to opperate because the unit is very heavy and the lift springs are worthless. I suspect the lift arm will be the first part to fail, although i hear the belts wear very quickly. All in all John De...
This is second winter i have owned this blower I just put on my fifth belt for blower. Belt runs way to loose. It says in instuction manual dont be alarmed by loosness of belt but when you start working the blower and the belt starts warming up wich makes it bigger and looser the belt self destructs! Ended up wiring arm always on to make it tighter than the linkage provides!also had to weld supports on lift arm because it bends when you lift blower! Iam a machinist of 42 years
