I read some bad reviews on this unit, but I decided to buy anyways. Glad I did! Easy assembly , worked flawless spreading 1400 lb pelletized lime on rough trails. Unit never tipped over on my rutted trails. Spread with ease, easy to stop flow as well. Made my job easy. I towed it with my utv with bags of lime in back. Don't hesitate to but it. Must be people didn't put together correctly or know how to follow instructions. Money we'll spent! I had to go green because I have a 3025e :)!
Ok once all the pieces were shipped
Major piece # 44285 missing and one of the tires would not hold air. Upon further inspection there was a tear in the inner tube. Oh ya and by the way, don’t contact John Deere with you problem, contact Agri-Fab...

The hardware bag was incomplete; missing hitch pin (for agitator), and cotter pin for wheels. I'm sure I will get the company to send the correct parts to complete my order.
good spreader
i have a John Deeress s240 lawn tractor this spreder works great towed behind the tractor. directions say tow at 3mph not to exceed 6mph. covered gear box. metel gears. gears easily lubed with hd grease and other points with penetrating oil . rince with hose after each use and dry before storing. i use 1 bag that covers 10--15000 sq ft at a time to go easy on spreder. easy to reach on off handle from tractor seat. seems that #3-4 setting is best for most uses. Lowes did nice job ...

so if everything here is "Agri-Fab, what is the advantage of buying this "John Deere" over the Agri-Fabs at the big box stores? the Agri-Fabs are cheaper there for what looks like the same model.
