The variable-speed rate permits you to choose the optimal feed rate for a full range of projects, while the Sandsmart feature continuously monitors the load on the drum motor to prevent an overload situation. The mirrored design of the dust hood optimizes dust collection preventing chips and dust from getting between your work-piece and the finish. The JWDS-1632 Drum Sander delivers everything you need for an effortless finish.

Conveyor bed parallelism is easily adjusted by turning the dial on the outside of the bed
Dust hood includes a patented integrated channel that mirrors the shape of the drum and directs chips and dust to the 4-inch collection port
Precision-machined and dynamically balanced extruded aluminum drum is designed to dissipate heat
Stand features a 20-inch x 37-inch footprint to increase stability, and has a storage shelf and predrilled holes for casters

No regrets, drum sander, cuts my work down hours

As a DIY woodworker who specializes in CNC style projects, cutting boards, inlay boards, many other projects that take hours of sanding. I finally decided to purchase the drum sander. I’ve only had it a few days and I’ve already saved hours of work as it removes most of the need for planning after glue ups I can just run through the drum sander and both level it and sand. I found this item cheaper at Lowe’s with my military discount and free shipping with my gold star status.

My new Jet JWSD-1632

I purchased my Jet JWDS-1632 drum sander from Lowes and it just came in a couple of days ago. Assembly of the base was easy, the only difficult part was lifting the pre-assembled upper unit onto the legs by myself; at 156lbs it’s better to have a hefty helper. So far, I’ve only used the unit for local red cedar and northern white cedar segmented bases and rings, for woodturning segmented bowls, but it works just like expected and with the 4 inch dust collection system it doesn’t make the mess m...

Dust control needed

The sander work well. The problem is that the dust is spewed up into your face. An adapter to connect to a dust collection system is needed
