Effectively create return air ducts between joists or studs with this Imperial Joist Panning Lining. The 16-in x 36-in joist lining seals the underside of floor joist space, creating a duct run to channel air back through the air return system. For ease of use, the panning features a 16-in width equal to the distance of joist spacing. This allows you to nail or screw the lining directly into the wood, creating a run of rectangular duct. The panning lining is constructed from 30-gauge galvanized steel for rust resistance and lasting durability. It can be cut to size to fit a variety of applications, and is easy to install with sheet metal screws for a secure fit (screws sold separately). This joist panning lining is suitable for use in most heating, venting and air conditioning applications.

What Customers Are Saying

Customers overwhelmingly praise this galvanized sheet metal for its versatility and ease of use. Most highlight how cleanly it cuts with basic tin snips and bends into custom shapes without specialized equipment. Many use it as a reliable magnetic surface for boards and displays, appreciating its smooth finish and secure magnet hold. Reviewers frequently turn to it for repairs like ductwork patching, roof flashing, and heat shields. Some report receiving damaged sheets with dents or bent corners, and a few note thickness discrepancies. Despite these minor issues, most customers consider it an excellent value for DIY and repair projects.

Wind Blocker

I bought this galvanized sheet to act as a wind blocker for my propane burner. It secured very well to the burner ring. I like that I will be able to lay it flat for storage. I plan to use it while camping.
