Husqvarna 440 40.9-cc 2-cycle 18-in Gas Chainsaw

husvarna won't honor warranty.

I purchased this chainsaw and the fuel to get the extended warranty. On top of the power box, extra chain, and oil. The chainsaw wouldn't stay running or it was running too hot. I took it to a local Husqvarna service center since I don't live that close to Lowe's. They said the carburetor is bad due to bad gas. IT'S HUSVARNA BRAND PREMIX. THEY WON'T HONOR A WARRANTY FOR BAD GAS EVEN IF THEY SOLD IT TO YOU. Returning it all to lowe's and buying a Stihl.

Hope I just got a dud

Invest in something else if you plan to rely on it

Broke the first time it was used and was outside the 48-hr return policy :(

Lack of power

Purchased 11-02-25, was not used until 11-08-25. First experience is lack of power and it bogs down. Went back to Lowe’s and was refused refund even though I was prepared to purchase the Husqvarna 455. I was told no exchanges or refunds after 48 hours, I was not advised of that at time of purchase. Needless to say I will not be shopping at Lowe’s in the future. Which a pity due to the fact we are remodeling our home.

Waste of money - waiting for support

I bought a 440 model and after less than 4 hours of use the chainsaw will start up, but quickly dies and appears to leak lubricant at a fairly high rate. No access to talk to a person about the issues, and the chat was very un-satisfying. At this time I am actively telling everyone to stay away from Husqvarna, because of poor service support and bad equipment quality. ...

A good saw

I bought this saw about 5 years ago and have generally been pleased with it. It's my 3rd saw in 40+ years. My first 2 were lighter-weight saws, this is a bigger saw than those, but a good balance of power and weight. The performance is good. I use it for yard and occasional cleanup after storms and for cutting trees and branches on the property where I hunt deer. A few days a year, like after a storm, it will get used for several hours. Doesn't work

The item has only started 5 times. It is extremely hard to start and it only started the first day. Since then, it will not start.

Good While It lasted

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this to cut my own fire wood and clear land, worked good for a few years. It still starts up but the chain wont spin, thought it was a clutch problem brought it to a dealer shop, they said its a compression issue and cant be fixed. Very disappointing expected it to last a lot longer then it did.
