I bought this compass so I could scribe trim boards to the wall. I didn’t realize that the screw that holds it in position would get in the way and hit the wall. If the screw was the other direction it would be good for what I intended to use it for. If your drawing circles it works great.

Doesn’t stay firmly open
This compass only has a spring to hold it open so if you’re scribing it’s easy to mess up if the thing collapses. In an awkward spot on a ladder holding a board you can’t always hold it so carefully.
