What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the dryer for its reliability, large capacity, and straightforward operation. Many appreciate the spacious drum, intuitive knobs, interior light, and no-frills design that consistently performs its core function. Reviewers value the simplicity and practicality over complex features. However, some note longer drying times compared to older models and report noise issues during operation. A few mention the sensor dry feature doesn't work consistently. Despite these drawbacks, most customers express strong confidence in the appliance's dependability and consider it a worthwhile purchase.

I like my new dryer for the most part. There are a few things that I don’t think are designed as well as my previous GE dryer. The lint catcher is hidden and you can’t see when it’s time to clean it. The top surface of the dryer is not the same level as the washer and the countertop aside of it. It is not very handy for using to fold laundry. What was the purpose of that change? The sound of the alarm to signal the end of the cycle is very loud. The lowest setting is still loud. Otherwise it h...

Unhappy with this purchase
There a lot of reasons to give this dryer a 2-star rating. First, it’s the loudest machine I have ever owned. Drying sheets should not sound like you’re experiencing an earthquake! Also, the lightbulb in the dryer gets so hot I have a 2nd degree burn on my thumb. I’m not sure if it’s wired incorrectly and is lit up while the door is closed or what is happening but it doesn’t light up when the door is open! I reached in right after opening the door to see if maybe the bulb was loose and burn...

Love my new GE dryer
So far so good! I love that this new dryer is a little more slim than my previous dryer. And it seems to be drying very well. I am very conscience of drying like for like items when possible and so far everything is drying pretty rapidly. The dryer is very quiet! But beware of that buzzer! It's pretty LOUD! So, I turned it off.

Simple to use but the LP conversion....
The LP conversion is not for the faint of heart. We bought this same set in electric for our last house and loved them. We bought a new house that has a propane hookup for the dryer. This turned into a project. The dryer was set up with a natural gas brass fitting from the factory so we had to disassemble the dryer to change it to the propane fitting. NOTE: the fitting came with the dryer! I called GE directly after ordering the dryer in-store, they told me their build sheet said it DID NOT c...

Impressed with my new dryer!
I’m absolutely loving using my new GE dryer! What a joy it is to have a dependable appliance. My only criticism is it is a little noisier than I expected but I’m adapting to this sound so it doesn’t bother me now. I also am impressed with the GE appliances… I also have a 3 year old GE washer that I am very pleased to own.

I like the GE dryer capacity and varied features. However the turning dial is EXTREMELY difficult to turn. I had one of the dial replaced as it purchased the warranty, and it still is very tight. The Repairman even commented on how “it is difficult to turn.” Even with a NEW dial! I love GE appliances, but I am disappointed with this feature and am told it “is the way it is and can’t be changed.” I would be happy with a smooth dial function. Instead I have to settle and I’m not happy.

When i purchased the dryer I told them it was to be converted to propane. I was told no problem for an additional charge it would be done. They said they were not allowed to change the orifice. Didnt matter since they said they dont sell them(by the way there is one taped to the inside of the back panel).Paid for hook up which wasn't done because they refused to hook it up to propane. So everything i paid for was delivered but I only got half of the service.

7.2 cf GE Gas Dryer
Absolutely happy with my purchase. The large capacity is perfect for Queen sized comforters. Install went well, and didn't take long at all. Only one problem with the install. The installer didn't check the level on the feet, and the first few loads the dryer "walked" a little.
Efficiency can also have quality.
Purchase a new washer and then the dryer - a se that is more practical for my small spaced garage. Absolutely happy with the GE machines. I do however wish they were not so hasty in assembling the new dryer vent. They tore it in the process and was quite an effortless adjustment/ fix. Slapping some tape, such a classic - “that’ll do it.” The machine itself is great. Already inverted the door to open conveniently after a wash load is done. I am happy with my purchase.

Run. Don't walk away.
Really Really Really disappointed. There is a serious design flaw in the lint-trap system. The plastic grate that allows the air to flow into the lint screen continuously clogs. I've never had this happen in the 50 years that I have been cleaning/drying clothes. Constantly plugged solid with with lint while drying regular clothes (2 old retired folks). And, to make matters worse, it allows lint through the lint screen and it accumulates on the blower wheel. You have to remove the front o...
