Workshop lights

I bought four of these lights for my workshop area in my shed. They work great, are easy to link together and put off plenty of light for a 12x14 area.

Extremely Bright

After mounting these in my garage 10’ off the ground, if I am walking to the other end of the garage I get blinded by this light. 3 stars because GE does not make a diffuser panel for this product which is absurd, and there is no dimming option. The light would be great if you angle it toward a wall, or if mounted at a position that you would never have the LEDs in eyesight.

Ceiling LED light fixture replaces old tube light

Overall this is a good product and provides terrific lighting. There are two ways to mount it, by chains from a nail in the ceiling or directly screwed into sheet rock or a beam. The directions say to drill two screw holes 42 inches apart. This is incorrect. The distance is about 40.8 inches. You must measure the distance on the light fixture very accurately and ignore the directions. The light must be mounted within about 4 feet from an electrical socket. It just plugs in, not hardwired. Bright Light

Rather bright lights, and so far I have no complaints. GE states they are guaranteed that they will last 5 years.

Blinding light not for low ceilings

Like pretty much all of these, there is no built in dimmer. So unlike fluorescent bulbs, you can't have these hanging anywhere close to your eyes or they'll blind you. Is it too much to ask for these to have at least a 50% brightness mode for people who want to use this in a basic basement garage with a low ceiling. Tip to product designers and the companies they design for... try actually using your own products!
