This dryer is not even five years old and has already stopped working. When I moved into my home, the brand-new GE dryer made a grinding metal noise, and the builder replaced it with the same model. Now, less than four years later, the replacement is making the same grinding noise. For comparison, my previous LG dryer lasted eight years without a single issue before I moved.

Do not purchase, will ruin your clothes!
My clothes get stuck and ruined with every dry cycle, there is a flaw in the drum where it catches and tangles anything with a string on it (drawstring shorts etc) or fine materials. I have lost SO MANY pieces of clothing due to this poor design. I will shop for another brand next time.

Only last 4 years
Great looking, never really got any of my clothes dry, they were always damp, I think it is because of steam capabilities. By year four, it was leaking from underneath, and making a horrible noise, sounds like bearings?. Definitely don't recommend the steam capabilities, I am getting a puddle from under my dryer, and they no longer offer repair parts. They discontinued my model in just 5 years.

So far so good, pretty quiet
Not a bad system. This is our first dryer of this type. I manage to side vent the unit, wasn't hard as much as it is annoying. There are a few things they could have done to make this process easy (partial reason for the 4 rating) like providing duct parts with the system. If not that, make the main duct two/three parts to adjust for side vent instead of having us measure and cut. Provide the 90' elbow would have been helpful and having to bent the set screw location 45 degrees is just ridiculou...

Only negative is the uneven loads occurances.
Would recommend… only problem has been with experiencing a lot of uneven loads causing it to leave clothes wet and having to do a rinse and dry cycle… and just recently the dampeners went out causing LOUD clacking noise during spin cycle… just had a tech out to replace all 4 dampeners… minor knock sound now during spin cycle… will call tech back…👍🏾

I Regret This Purchase
I truly regret buying both the washer and dryer of this GE line. They're not even paid off yet and both have needed repairs. Within the first 9 months, the dryer made a loud grinding noise whenever running. Fortunately it was still under it's 1-year warranty so a repairman came out free of charge. They replaced the motor in the dryer but within a month it was back to making the grinding sound and was never fixed. Now both are out of warranty and the washer sounds like it's going to explode when...

Great Dryer, But Get Longer Steam Cord
I like this dryer a lot because it dries everything so much faster than most. I also like the steam option, but we needed a much longer one than the one included. The steam function is nice, but I don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would. The dryer is spacious and even if I put a lot in it, it still manages to dry things quite well. The lint trap is so easy to slide out to clean and slide back in. There's so many options available on this dryer it takes a bit of getting used to. I al...
Very Disappointed in GE
We loved it at first. It looks sharp and has great features; however, we started having problems in the first week. We may have ended up with a dud. It started overheating the first time we did a load of bulkier clothing (only a few items, we did not overload it). I didn't think this would be an issue considering our 15 year old dryer could handle it, and this one has a 'Bulky Items' setting. Mid cycle we hear it start to click, which sounded like electrical contacts, then it would stop, wa...

LOWEST QUALITY you could possibly purchase
Lowest quality appliance I have EVER purchased. There is a thin, flimsy plastic gasket that goes around the barrel of the washer. After only 2 years use there are 2 tears in this gasket which is causing the washer to leak all over my laundry room floor. The cost of repair is as much as a new washer. The washer is made so that repairing it yourself is impossible unless you are an appliance repair person. To replace this gasket the washer literally has to be completely disassembled. It looks ...

Overall fine
I bought this to pair with the matching washer. I do like most of the features, like the steam dewrinkle that works well. I'm still trying to find the combinations that work best; the standard choices just don't seem to give me what I want. Perm Press dries on medium (would prefer low), cottons on low (would prefer high), and mixed loads on high (would prefer medium). And the cycle times are high, nearly an hour for most cycles. I pick low/less dry and things come out fine in half the time....
