It is a nail. It is large for a nail, more of a spike at 6”. I use them, I bought ten, in various ways associated with ham radio doings. I usually push the pointy end into the ground all or part way. I push with my hand or foot or hand with hammer. Sometimes getting the nail out of the ground it more challenging. Sometimes I kick the nail back and forth until I can pull I out.
