How good is good enough?

Let me start this review by stating that Lowe’s was top notch in their customer service. This review is nothing to do with Lowe’s, it is only about the EverTrue Pine Wood Wall Panel product. I purchased 120 packs of this product to cover a 1000 sf area. Why so much (120 packs @ 14 sf per pack is 1680 sf to cover 1000 sf)? Kitchen Ceiling- NO more popcorn ceiling!

Bought this, and treated/stained/sealed with a white-wash finish. Installed the thinnest plywood over our entire ceiling (most of our house- the studs aren't standard), so we could screw them in along stud lines. This allowed us to install these strips easily, with a line of liquid nails and some finishing pneumatic nails. Occasionally, we'd find some strips that were incredibly warped and we saved those till the end (hoping we either wouldn't have to use them, or that we'd be able to cut them ...

Not Everteue’s Fault.

First let me say that this not the company Evertrue’s fault but it Lowes fault, I bought 15 bundles of this product to do my walls, I have used it before with little waste, but in ghese bundles I had at leat 25% waste! Why? I think what I bought was re-packed returns, when someone brings back the bad boards that they get Lowes of Bowling Green KY re-packs them and sells them as good, I know this because of the package labels, the labels that Lowes put on the re-packed bundles had a black & white...

I brought this home and took out of packaging, stacked up against walls loosely for 48 hours to acclimate to my home. I stained them using minwax golden pecan wood stain ( do this before putting on walls because if you do after putting up the boards it’s a pain trying to stain perfectly in the cracks between boards). I love it!

I wasn’t so sure at first because about 75% of the packs had 1-2 boards in a pack with minor flaws in them.. but once it was all put up, it looked perfect! I love all the imperfections, as it adds character to my walls! I was only going to do one room, but I think I’m going to do a few other rooms in my house and maybe the ceilings too! Almost done! Big project!

I recently had a 40' x 60' metal skinned pole barn style shop built. Half of this space being shop/garage, the other half (1200 sq ft) being living quarters. The living quarters consists of a kitchen, living room area, 2 bedrooms and a bath with 4 closets and a pantry. Great Product, some waste, BUT!! Read on!

I first used this product in a newly renovated bathroom, and just loved the look. I then had a bad ceiling, that was Sheetrock, and I LOATHE working with Sheetrock! So down it comes, I then installed OSB on the ceiling as a backer, and installed the T&G Knotty Pine. It Looks GREAT! Like the bathroom, I used 1 thin coat of Minwax Clear Poly, and will let it sit for about 2 yrs to age a bit adding even more character, and then go back and hit it with 2 more thicker coats of poly. You will get what you pay for ..... probably less.

The price paid for running board foot - or for the square foot coverage per package is very favorable - but depending on the final quality of the project - you may expect to purchase nearly twice as much as originally estimated. Other users appear to be content with the "rustic look" to whatever degree that may be. pretty but junk

We decided to put these planks on a large ceiling. I started with purchasing all the first store had in stock knowing that the other stores around us had plenty more in stock. What I didn't know is that out of every package of 6 we would average 2 usable boards. It took 5 stores and 3 weeks of rummaging through them to get enough usable boards to complete the project. I am not that picky. i like knots and color differences, etc. That gives it character, but we are talking about broken and busted...

Used around the fireplace

I used this around my fireplace and found it very easy to install. I used a finish nailer along with construction adhesive so it should be there for good. I opened several packages and mixed them trying to get a random pattern. I had a little waste because I only wanted full boards without splices for this.
