Estwing makes a great product, and they make it here in the USA. The leather wrapped handle is thicker than the rubberized version and fits better in my hand.

they're NOT what they were 50 years ago
My mid 1970's 20oz Est-wing and its ~15oz mate have served me quite well. I fixed both leathers at least once before, years ago, the 20 oz needing it the most. Epoxy does wonders as does neats-foot oil or other leather oil. But the 20oz was very tired so decided for a new one; straight claw this time, the older being the curved style. It was the Last one Lowe's had on the rack, the only one available, I just gathered it, paid and not until returning home, miles away, did I notice the EXTREMEL...

Great USA made finish hammer
Great weight and balance, perfect hammer if you lose or damage it because it’s cheap but good quality.
Classic Hammer with a Classy Leather Handle
I have used Estwing hammers for over 30 years and I've always wanted one with a stacked leather handle. By far and away, Lowe's has the best price for this model. Thank you for helping me realize a long held desire.

Last hammer I’ll ever buy
Turned 53 at beginning of January and I’ve never really thought of hammers, like most people it’s just an object you grab to make a repair or two. After hurricane Helene hit Augusta my family has undertaken quite a few home projects. My kids and I rebuilt our entire back yard fence, and patched holes in our sheds roof. We all actually enjoyed the work and our accomplishments. When I watched the many contractors work at our neighbors homes I could see the type of tools they used and I realized th...
Estwing Quality Remains Timeless
This one-piece steel Estwing is a great choice for a general-purpose or homeowner’s hammer. Estwing has a great reputation among laymen and tradesmen alike for producing many American-made products of a high quality. This offering is an excellent example. The finishing work on the hammer is good, and the stacked leather handle is well put-together, comfortable, and aesthetically classic. Sixteen ounces is a solid weight for most around-the-house tasks, and can handle occasional driving of larg...
It’s a hammer.
It does the job and the handle hasn’t broken off in the first month, so it’s a good hammer to me.

Excellent tool that will last a life time.
Top quality tool that will last a lifetime. Bought this for my son-in-law who broke another hammer while doing work around their new home. So long as he doesn't lose this hammer, he can pass it down to his children.
