Highly recommend
I love that it has a trigger verses having to swing a hammer! So much less cumbersome! Just push in place and squeeze the trigger! Done!

Better than a hammer
I like this product, but it is difficult to get the nails through the 2x4 and completely down into the Concrete. Out of approximately 60 uses, I was able to drive the nail flush with the board surface 5 times. The rest left the nail 1/4 inch sticking up.

Powerful but finicky
This is a good product. I returned it though to get the pistol-grip version. I found that "old" concrete requires a steady hand and a good grip to prevent recoil (which causes the nail to "stick-out". But in any case it works as stated and save lot's of time over the hammer-drill & lag technique.

Makes quick work of attaching material to concrete
The Duo-Fast Powder Shot fastener works really well. Just watch out for the recoil. If you don't have your hand right up against the end of the grip the recoil can hurt your hand a bit. After the first shot (ouch) I figured it out. Grip with your fingers over the top (don't turn your hand so they go under the grip) I think they should have made the flared end of the grip larger to spread the recoil pressure out. One thing I didn't understand was large price difference between the hammer and tri...

Much easier to use than Tapcon cement screws
For years I have always drilled holes in concrete and used Tapcon screws. It has always been time consuming and dusty. I was putting up a Gazebo on our back patio slab and found that it was going to take forever to drill 4 holes for each leg. I decided to give the Duo Fast a try. I spoke with a salesman and he told me he didn't know why anyone would want to use anything else. He set me up with everything I needed. Once I read the directions (which were quite simple) I set my first nail in concre...

Does not drive nails as advertised
It drove 1 out of 5 nails flush to the 2 x 4...I was attempting to fasten treated 2 x 4's with 2.5" nails to concrete (poured in1968). It left the nails about 1/4" out from the surface of the board. I even followed the #4 powder and 1" of nail into the concrete (1.5" of board + 1" of nail = 2.5" nails). I returned to tool and resorted to a hammer drill and Tapcons.
Excellent
This tool does an excellent job, and it's such a time saver. Absolutely worth the money. I've used it to bolt down studs to my basement floor and it works great. I tried concrete nails with a big hammer, but this is much easier and also holds the studs in place much better. Be sure to wear eye and ear protection!
Doesnt completely sink 3" nails
The unit is rated to sink up to 3" nails with a #4 load. I have been unable to sink a 3 " nail flush into my basement's concrete floor through a 2x4. It is easy to use, but I find my wrist hurts after firing it several times consecutivly. Overall its seems to be well constructed and is very simple to use. But if your attempting to sink 3" nails through a 2x4 flush you may want to choose another model.
