The 1” extension is false. 3/4” per side is a more accurate description. The reason is because the glass door and side panel glass are connected to one panel that slides into another panel. The installation process will require you to screw the outer panel to the inner panel. At 1” extension, there is no inner panel left to screw into. It looks nice but very hard to install with the provided manual if you need to reverse the side in witch you are installing the door. Dreamline shoud provide two manuals. One for left opening and one for right opening. Also, there is hardly any steps to follow. The manual has a lot of graphics but it takes a lot of time to comprehend..

Very well designed and great quality. You don't necessarily need a commercial grade suction cup, IF, you have good help. The glass is very heavy and placing the door on this hinges is something you need to be very cautious with.

The elegance of this door is great. Installation was a challenge. It functions wonderfully and does exactly what we wanted. However, our GC found it one of the more complicated shower doors to install and he's been doing construction, especially bathrooms and kitchens, for 40+ years. It’s pretty!
No fault of the door but make sure you have someone who knows what to do when you find the drywall is not straight/flat when you install the door. Not fun!! I guess the builder didn’t do straight lines on the door frame when they did the drywall for it. So, there was a gap between the door and the wall. The door is gorgeous! It’s exactly what we wanted! I highly recommend getting it.

Good product -issue with step 1 installation.
The product is very good. Had an issue with my shower: in this 7 year old house that I just moved into, the base wasn’t level. It was half an inch in 70 inches out of level. The first step of the instructions has a warning that the threshold Must be level. Making it level was not a viable option. This is a heavy, well-made, gorgeous shower door. The brushed nickel is pretty, the glass is coated with a clear coat that helps keep your glass from spotting. Custom Shower Door in a Box
I needed a top-tier shower door to complete an upscale shower project… but it had to be able to handle significantly (3/4+ inch) out of plumb wall conditions and a custom sized opening. This door delivered beautifully!! It is essentially a custom door in a box. The only reason for one star off (should be 1/2-star deducted) was that the install process was comparatively difficult.
