Beautiful Mantle- easy install.
The mantle is beautiful and relatively easy to install. The hard part was the attachment wood inside that attaches to the wall was so bowed once we detached it from the mantle to install, we had to go get longer screws to hold it in. Other than that, it looks beautiful. We got different screws because trying one stripped, so we upgraded that.

Not QUITE as described, but acceptable.
Overall it's the level of quality I expected from Lowe's: acceptable. The one issue I have with it is that the description claims it has a cleat mounting system with two beveled pieces of wood, one that attaches to the wall and one attached inside the mantel. It actually only has one mounting board which you screw to the wall and then screw into through the TOP of the mantel. This wouldn't be a big deal if it came with plugs to fill the screw holes, but it doesn't. As it is the holes aren't real...

Measurements not correct.
Upon picking up this mantle I noticed the box was 6x6x72.the description says the mantle is 6 1/4x 10x72. Luckily my customer was ok with it but this is not what I was hoping to receive. It's very thin and the mounting design is very poor I'm very certain it will be wobbly. I will be fabricating a 4x4x70 block to mount it on to assure it will be very tight and no play in it. Hopefully the next pirson who wants to purchase this reads my review before they purchase.

poor quality check
shelf is as described. rough is very rough to the touch. after speaking with a dogwood rep they said it's a quality defect. item wasn't sanded or sealed.. Sadly my contractor installed it and would cost more to take it down. wouldn't recommend

Price, ease of installation and beauty are exceptional ! It took approximately 30 minutes to install after I got it centered on the wall. I had to drill additional holes in the backer board to match my stud locations. no problem. I would definitely buy their products again !

This is a really beautiful product. Very nice finish and the mahogany is a nice color - more a deep, rich brown than a red. One of the corners was broken off, but it’s against the wall and glued back together ok. If it was on the front edge, I may have returned it. There are no screw covers, which depending on the installed height won’t really matter, but I feel it would be a good touch for them to include these going forward. Good for the low price
The wood is beautiful. It is well sanded which made staining easy. Hanging it was a cinch with the provided hardware and instructions. It does not have mitered corners so you can very clearly see where each piece butts up to the others. On the front of the mantle (which is the most important part) it was nailed and then filled with a stainable putty, but it has shrunk and stain never looks the same on putty as it does on wood. They're small spots but I see them and it bothers me that it wasn't...
