This cooler is worth the combination tool price

The brushless 20 volt tools are what I was looking for but when I went to Lowe’s I saw the cooler combo and immediately grabbed it. I’ve used it the past several days for lunch and break at work. This cooler is better than my Yedi Roadi. Kept my drink cold until afternoon break. Couple of guys I work with went to get a combo kit at lunch break yesterday but Our Lowes was sold out. I guess they were able to order them to the store.

I work on a ranch in Montana, where re-charging during the day is seldom an option. My 20 volt drill driver has yet to let me down in very tough working environments. I worked with a 14 volt drill driver for years, and thought it was great until I tried the 20 volt DeWalt driver. I now know what I was missing! Small batteries (1.3aH) and plastic chuck drill

I purchased this package as a deal of the day. Low and behold it was available in store for longer than that at the same price. Basically, for the same money you can get a very similar package elsewhere with both larger batteries and a metal chuck on the drill. Is a small yellow cooler worth that much to you? Or would you rather have better batteries and tools? I have it three stars because it certainly isn’t a bargain, but the tools are still dewalt.

False Advertisement

I have revealed to Lowes twice that this product has a false advertisement in it. It stats that it comes with two 1.5Ah batteries. Instead it comes with two 1.3Ah only and seems to not want to correct this falseness. I bought this set for the 2 1.5Ah batteries, not for the cooler. I would like Lowes to exchange my batteries for these 1.5's. Even the guy on the internet that helps people said that they were 1.5's. Falseness deserves a very low rating.

Good deal with the cooler. Be warned that despite what is stated here and by the Dewalt rep in the Q&A section, the batteries are not 1.5, but instead 1.3. They are brushless motors and the kit, even with the lower powered batteries, appears to be a decent deal. The cooler is pretty nice, but somewhat heavy. It has a place for a lock and a place to screw in an ice pack on the inside, which is nice.

Top quality as expected!

Purchased this when it was on "deal of the day" sale at Lowe's and have been very pleased with the performance of the drills. The cooler was also very nice quality, but I ended up selling it and the batteries/charger on ebay to cover the cost of the two drills. When it was all said and done after fees and shipping, I had two new drills to use with my existing batteries for less than $20!

Combo kit

On the surface it looks like you are over paying for a small cooler, but if you research model numbers, you find that this set has the brushless motors. This is a worthy upgrade because they are more efficient making batteries last longer and removes a big wear item from these units.

My 1st DeWALT I’ve ever owned!

I love this product! From the smaller drill to the larger drill to the incredibly strong box. It's well built, easy to use and very sturdy. My wife said that when I opened it up she hasn't seen me smile like that for a long time. I’m a real man with these drills in my hands. LOL! Thanks for a great product. I would definitely recommend this product.

Good 20 Volt Brushless Combo Kit

Batteries were dying in my old 18 volt drill/driver. Felt it was time to upgrade to 20 volt brushless. Smaller, lighter and more comfortable. Bought this when it was Deal of the day, used veterans benefits, big savings. The Tools are great Dewalt quality. Haven't used the cooler yet (it is January) but it seems sturdy and well made, can't find the cooler on Dewalt's website guess they stopped them. That's why I took off a star.
