Poor quality
The lighting is awful. Points straight down and to the front. Light does not spread filling the area. Clock only has 24 hour mode, not 12. So if your use to military time, this one is for you; otherwise for the rest of No. The 3-4 sound level is on low and is okay. At level to it is very loud, at level three it is a jet engine. I regret purchasing this hood. The hood I wanted was out of stock for the foreseeable future. The Sales Rep recommended this hood. Mistake

This hood has 3 speeds - the lowest is almost silent but the next two are loud! The clock illuminates the entire kitchen at night. No need for a night light.

Small Dent and impossible cellophane
The protective plastic coating (cellophane) was absolutely impossible to remove. It was a very tedious task and it took close to 2 hours to remove. This particular hood must've been sitting in some hot warehouse for a significant amount of time. The cellophane was basically glued to the hood. It's designed to be slowly pulled off but this was not the case. Of course, after I installed it and took a step back...there was a nice small dent right at eye level. We just took out the ducted vent hood, and this one is exactly what we were looking for that doesn’t require a duct to exhaust. The look is better and the fan seems to draw the air better. Should have went this route to begin with.

This unit has 3 settings and the highest one it is still pretty quiet but sucks up smoke and steam. Easy to clean grates go right into the dishwasher. It is very similar to another brand which was around $1200 at another retailer! Glad we found this one at Lowe's
