The tank leaks into the bottom base. The base has a opening where the hose comes out. The base fills after 5 or 10 minutes and the spray material, usually pesticide, runs down my lower back and down my pants leg. I wind up with pants wet with pesticide. Thanks Chapin. BTW, I use the sprayer sparingly and after 18 months have had failures in two batteries and two charges. You will be better off trying a different brand. Oh, the box says "Made in the USA". How embarrassing.

Very good sprayer

I've owned this sprayer for 4 years. I'm a homeowner; I do not use it commercially, but I do use it at least every two weeks for mosquito abatement. It will perform perfectly IF you take certain steps to make it so. First; take care not to get the battery wet. The tank has a very wide mouth, so if you're careful when filling it, this is easy.
