My 1988 Hotpoint oven works again. The original element lasted 36 years. The second (a different aftermarket manufacturer) lasted only 9-1/2 months. This is the third heating element, and I hope it lasts.

GE Oven Heating Element Replacement

Oven heating element failed 10 days before Christmas. Researched replacement options for this very old GE oven and located this item on the Lowes website. When order was placed it did state the part would arrive in time; was pleased it was ready for pickup well ahead of holiday. The part fit, only minor complaint is the wire attachments have a phillips screw head rather than bolt head.

Searched for a good price and came up with Lowes offering the best price, the right elemwnt and fastest store delivery time for customer pick up. Element looked like original, fit like original and, now installed, it works perfectly.

Lowes Cost was 1/3 of Other Local Suppliers

Cost was one third through Lowes vs. other local suppliers. Delivery was fairly quick. It came with new screws to attach the element, but not the nuts to attach the cover plate, so be sure to save those for the reinstall.

Not in fact compatible with Hotpoint ovens

Contrary to the claims this element is not compatible with Hotpoint ovens, or at least not mine, as the connectors are to closely spaced to install.
