Nothing like what I was expecting. I had an old formula gallon of their driftwood gray in my basement for about 18 years. Thin consistency, went on easy, soaks into the wood like you would expect an oil based stain to do, but not this stuff. Lowe's delivered an empty can

This review is NOT about the paint itself; it's about the terrible delivery service that Lowe's provides. Haven't got a chance to know how the paint performs yet; can't say I will recommend the product or not. Ordered a Qt of 17406 last night; it was "delivered" this morning (rather quickly). BUT, when I picked up the brown bag that holds the can; it felt kinda too light for a Qt of paint. Just buy it

Never used a semi-solid stain and was worried this would be more like paint. It’s not at all. I am beyond impressed with the coverage of this stain especially on new wood. You only need one coat! Applied with the Cabot stain brush. The brush is just as fantastic. Time will tell on the wear. After trying many different stains and brands this will only be what I buy

Not as ordered

Ordered tinted stain, didn't realize until I got home and opened it up that what I received was only the neutral base (not tinted). the store did not add the tint to it to make the color I ordered. This is frustration on several points: 1) the store is 40 miles round trip from my home, will have to make another trip so I'll have traveled 80 miles for this $5 sample 2) Will have taken 1-1/2 hours of my time 3) Was planning to check out sample so if good I could pick up full qty required for my p...

Great Product, Great Mgr., Great exchange policy.

Price was a bit high, but the coverage for the stain is pretty good, so it all works out. I had to return the original stain because it was mixed too dark and had no issues with the exchange. The only issue that I had was nobody was in the paint department when I tried to return on a weeknight. Went during the day and talked to a manager who was very helpful. I have a fencing project coming up, so I hope to use the stain on that as well.

Lowes Web Nightmare

After recently purchasing two appliances which turned out to be a nightmare on-line purchase, I made the mistake of ordering a paint brush, paint pail and deck stain intended to be delivered. I thought I checked the delivery box but only checked that box for two items. I had to drive 30 miles for the nearest Lowes to pick up the brush or was told that it would be a $79 delivery charge for the brush. The paint pail and stain were delivered in two separate shipments. Goes on smoothly and looks great!

I bought this in the Clear as a protective coat on an antique dresser and hutch that I had painted. There was not a big smell and it went on easily, drying quickly. It was a semi gloss and really made the pieces look great. I will continue to use Cabot as I do more furniture.

Great Wood Stain

I’m really happy with this wood stain. The color turned out beautiful—rich and even—and it completely refreshed my old picnic tables. It covered the worn areas much better than I expected and gave them a clean, updated look. The application was smooth and straightforward, and the finish looks great. I’d definitely use this product again for other outdoor projects.
