Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
This two-stage gas snow blower is powerful and efficient at clearing heavy, wet snow and deep drifts. The self-propelled feature makes it easy to maneuver, and the electric start is convenient, even in cold weather. However, some users have reported issues with the snow chute mechanism becoming loose over time, and the blower can be heavy and difficult to turn in tight spaces. With proper maintenance, many customers have been able to use this blower reliably for several seasons, though some have experienced problems with it not starting after the first year.

We are going on our third winter with this blower, and we have had an issue every single winter. From the first winter, where it was surging, to which I called Craftsman and they told me “that’s actually how they make them now.” Last winter, wouldn’t start, sounds like this has been common. This winter, had an issue with it starting again, but got it going. However, we got hit with 8 inches of snow today, and the auger isn’t rotating. I will have to swap out shear pins and see what needs to ...
Literally a waste of money
I have to clean the carb every year after storage in order to get it to start. Literally used it two times the first year and always put good gas in it and it still wouldn’t start the next year. Then the same year after that and so on and so forth. I can’t get over what a waste of money it is! Wont buy another craftsman again
Only started twice in the first year.
Used it only twice. Same problem as everyone else. It will not start, The first time I had to call Craftsman and they said keep pumping the primer button until it starts. It did the first time and used it one more time after that. Not it will not ever start again. It is a frustrating piece of junk. Very disappointed.

Great machine- Poor plastic tires
Great snowblower, except for plastic tires?! Why on earth would Craftsman ever cheap out and put on a set of plastic tires? As for fuel issues, avoid any ethanol based fuels! I run strickly Aspen fuels only! Now all fuels including premium contain ethanol. Ethanol ruins carburetors! So not the product! Is our govt. regulations on ethanol- environment. Drain your fuel enf of season. Run abit of Aspen 4 and your good till next season. Save yourself headaches and costly repairs! And fix on tir...

No start on year 2
Like all of the rest. Ran well for first season and now no start. I am versed in small engines and found that even getting to the parts was a nightmare of pulling covers. Will need help. I wonder what brand I will have next year at this pace.

Doesn't start every year
Snowblower has to have its carburetor cleaned every year or it doesn't start and even when that happens, it doesn't sound very healthy. similar problems that everybody else is having with this snowblower. I would love a solution to this problem snowblower. This is my fourth winter with the darn thing.
Junk snowblower
I bought this snowblower in Oct 2023 and that winter there was very little snow in my area a northern suburb of Chicago so I actually only used the snowblower one time for maybe half an hour maybe 3 or five inches of snow . Stored the snow blower away added some Stable gas treatment to what little fuel That was left in the tank . Feb of the 2025 the first major snow storm of the year is predicted to come in Wednesday so I go out to start the snowblower in Monday … and of course it would not sta...
Do Not Purchase
I’ve had this for 4 years, every single winter it has serious issues starting up. I’ve gotten it fixed multiple times over the years and each year is the same story. Extremely unreliable.

Works for 1 season, that's it.
Will not start. Worked for 1 season, used up all gasoline, changed oil as recommended, will not start now despite lots of troubleshooting. Did not abuse engine or any other wear and tear that would result in such a condition whatsoever. I've never had a piece of equipment die this fast in my life!
