pretty flooring but lots of issues
When learning to install hardwood flooring they suggest you buy what you need plus 10 percent. With the many problems I saw, you better add 25 to 40 percent. Bruce is a major flooring company but they certainly need better quality control. Those colorful knots may look good and appeal to some but are potential problems a few years down the road. Some boards were missing tongues or had bark, weakening the wood and future squeaks. Can't forget those small almost invisible splits or cracks that...

Bought on name recognition. Disappointed
We are halfway through a 1300sf job. I read the poor reviews and felt low price could make it worth the potential problems. Boy, was I wrong. We have had to tear out rows to get bad pieces out. Biggest problem is with the ends not being consistent in width or alignment of tongue and groove on ends. All machining issues and lack of quality control. We have wasted hours trying to make this look right for our customer. Not feasible to have a man cull through and check every piece with a tape measur...

Easy Installation
I ordered thirteen boxes. They came in when promised and the price had fallen between order and delivery. I did like that. I let them sit in the place they were to be installed for a few days. I found NONE of the problems indicated in another review. All pieces had tongue and grooves. A few pieces were warped and a little bowed but you expect that to happen when dealing with solid wood. I did not use a floor nailing gun, I already owned a finish nailer. The problem using my method is the difficu...
Bruce oak hardwood flooring
Overall, the wood is pretty good. Although I followed the directions to a TEE, in letting the wood acclimate to the house temperature and humidity I have experienced what I feel are too many bowed boards. It makes these boards almost impossible to install in a professional manner. Other than that it is a good product.

Beware
Beware of every piece of flooring that is placed. My wife and I bought 11 boxes of this flooring to install. There was at least 1 1/2 boxes of pieces that were either had splits, warped or didn't have a tongue. We inspected all pieces before nailing and still had pieces that seemed to crack the day after installation. The product looks very nice but just be careful about the amount of waste involved.

disappointed in quality
End tongue and groove were frayed,as if this wood had been installed before. width of the wood varied making it difficult to get a tight fit between boards.

To much waste
The Bruce flooring had 2 boxes of unusable boards. 44 sq.Ft. of waste out of 54 boxes ordered. Some were wider and thicker than others. Some were cracked.

Looks good and finished in one day!
