Briggs & Stratton Power Protect 12000 -Watt Home Standby Generator

Looks nice, but not reliable

I had an older Briggs & Stratton home standby generator and it failed many times. I spoke with the dealer who said it’s old and should be upgraded. I purchased a new 12kw unit last summer. Just lost power and guess what, the new unit failed. Has an AVR fault. If you want reliability, don’t buy a Briggs and Stratton.

it was just installed 2 days ago.the power has not gone out yet.it has WiFi but i do not have access to monitor it yet ?

Just the right size

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Turn key installation. My power company put it in. Runs on LP gas from a 500 gallon tank, so we should have plenty of time if the power goes out. It exercises itself once a week for 20 minutes.

Evolution in Standby Generators

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installers have finally finished the Symphony II Transfer Switch to my 12KW B&S Standby Generator. Electrician is stunned at the cleverness of this system - easy to install and whole house (using modules) service! My wife and I are thrilled and can hardly wait for a power outage!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 3 years ago, always nice to know when the power goes off I have lights in about 15 to 20 seconds. Running natural gas is the best. My only complaint is just a couple of months after my purchase they started gving a 10 year warranty, I only have 6 years.

Very reliable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very small footprint compared to other brands but more difficult to access the filters and other normal maintenance requirements. The ability to connect to my NG service was extremely important.
